The Various Designs of Childrens Wallpaper

Decorating a nursery in preparation for a new baby’s arrival can be extremely exciting. Many new parents want to start designing the room from scratch and will remove all traces of existing wallpaper and furnishings in order to create a fantastic nursery space for the new baby.

Childrens wallpaper can come in all sorts of patterns and designs. For those parents who want to choose a neutral and soft feel to the nursery, they can choose a wallpaper which features soothing colours, such as beige and cream, and may just have a small pattern of teddy bears or butterflies. Other parents may want to use bold and striking colours and patterns to stimulate the baby. Many wallpapers can feature animals or fantasy creatures from famous story books, or perhaps feature an alphabet pattern which repeats its way around the room – perfect for pre-schoolers.

Of course, some nurseries may benefit from using two different patterns of childrens wallpaper. The top half of the room may be filled with stars and the lower half of the room could feature sparkly wallpaper which glitters and shines. When decorating the baby’s nursery it is important to remember that children grow very quickly, so you may be needed to redecorate the room within 3 or 4 years as the child develops their own tastes and ideas!

Decorating is not just about the paint and the wallpaper. The furnishings also need to be chosen to match the décor, so the baby’s room would need a cot, a wardrobe, some storage and also accessories such as curtains and lamps. In order to hang the new curtains, parents will need to choose from a range of curtain poles to install into the nursery. Curtain poles are usually manufactured using wood or metal, and will need to be fixed securely to the wall above the window.

Choosing the soft furnishings for the nursery which complement the walls and carpet is often the fun and creative part so many parents can really go to town when creating their new baby’s bedroom.
